Speaker 1: This audio is an important part of the test to become a transcriber for GoTranscript.
Speaker 2: It is very important that you keep the GoTranscript guidelines page open in front of you while you are taking this test. The reason is that I am going to include a lot of numbers which will have to be formatted properly per our standards. If you are not paying attention to the instructions in the guidelines, you will not pass the test. We really need a lot of transcribers because 9 out of 10 people who take the test do not pass. The reason is that they are not looking at the guidelines.
If you are a person in your 30s you were probably born in the '90s there are specific instructions in the guidelines all about the numbers in this particular paragraph so be sure you look at them and make the right choice. Another issue applicants seem to have trouble with his paragraph length. The guidelines clearly state how long your paragraph should be and even if you get every word in your transcript 100% Correct. You may still be rejected if you put it all into one paragraph.
Formatting is super important to us. Any AI bot can transcribe the words but we need people who can follow instructions. Media titles such as TV shows, movies, books, song titles, plays and what have you are supposed to be I italicized. That means that if I tell you I took a staycation after seeing the classic corner gas sitcom, in the episode titled male fraud, I'd better see some italics there. If not, I'm going to get out of my lawn chair and come back inside the gas station. If you don't know what I'm talking about, please go watch that episode if you can find it as it's very funny.
Finally, remember that the instruction on this test is that it should be in clean verbatim that style is described in the guidelines and sample documents are provided. So you can see the difference between clean and full verbatim. In this audio, I have started some sentences with words such as and and so and I've used words such as gonna, if you transcribe those words just the way I said them you're not following CV style, and you're going to get rejected.
